We are lucky to have so many fall attractions and events around the area where families have been making fall memories for years. From picking apples to leaf-peeping to Halloween fun ...   Pick Your Own Apple Farms Near Burlington-Hillsborough

Blueberry Thrill Farm

6938 Eaglesfield Rd Gibsonville, NC 27249

Details: In the fall open select Saturdays from 8am-12pm. U-pick Apples (Daybreak Fuji, golden delicious, Granny Smith, old fashion winesap, pink lady, and gold rush) - $20/half peck bag (cash discount price). Also have 5 varieties of U-pick Muscadines and U-cut Pumpkins.

If you're looking to immerse yourself in the the beauty of the fall leaves changing colors, there is no shortage of places in the area to get away into nature. The Haw River Trail

Multiple locations

Details: The Haw River Trail is part of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and includes over 20 miles of Hiking and Haw River Paddle access with major entrances at Shallow Ford Natural Area, Great Bend Park, Stoney Creek Marina, Swepsonvville River Park, and Saxapahaw Island Park

Guided kayak paddles are conducted regularly by Burlington Recreation and Parks as well as Haw River Canoe and Kayak.


Burlington Arboretum at Willowbrook Park

315 W. Willowbrook Dr. Burlington, NC 27215
Details: The arboretum is full of a wide variety of plant collections and features a wide, paved walking path that meanders the length of this 17-acre park. 


Cedarock Park 

4242 R Dean Coleman Rd Burlington, NC 27215

Details: 500-acre expansive nature park park in southern Alamance County featuring hiking trails, Equestrian center/trails, disc golf courses, restored historical farm, fishing, waterfall, picnic shelters, gazebos, playground, canoe/kayak rentals, and more.


Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area

625 Virginia Cates Rd Hillsborough, NC 27278

Details: Hiking trails winding through forests of mountain laurel and rhododendron.


The Riverwalk

140 E. Margaret Lane Hillsborough, NC 27278

Details: Part of the N.C. Mountains-to-Sea Trail, the Riverwalk is a paved, accessible, urban greenway that stretches about 2 miles along the Eno River between Gold Park in western Hillsborough and trails east of town. It is a popular trail for walking, jogging and cycling.

Fogleman Farms Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

4th generation farm. All Access Ticket includes: Corn Maze, Hayride, U-pick Pumpkin fields(for purchase) Tunnel Slide, Playground, Flower Fields, Bounce House, Photo Ops, and more!
