What is Music Together®?

Since 1987, Music Together® has introduced millions of children, parents, and teachers around the world to the joys of family music-making and the powerful benefits of having music in their lives. From babyhood through the early elementary years, Music Together nurtures each child’s natural musicality in a playful, musically rich learning environment. Our research-based music classes are non-formal and non-performance oriented, so your child can learn at their own pace, in a way that’s developmentally appropriate.

Bull City Music School proudly offers Music Together as a series of classes for children 0-5 years old and their caregivers that run year-round in 8-week sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer). Each week in Music Together® Mixed-Age Classes, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them®, gather for 45 minutes of fun-filled family music time. Your teacher will lead you and the other families in music activities ranging from lullabies to full-on jam sessions (with child-friendly instruments, of course). It’s so much fun you won’t realize how much learning is taking place!

In person AND online options available.

Classes include:

  • Weekly 45-minute interactive and musically-rich class with your teacher every week for 8 weeks (6-8 weeks in the Summer).
  • Current music collection (includes illustrated songbook, music download and CD)
  • Access to music activities from Music Together®® Worldwide. Coloring pages, activities and games...exclusively for enrolled families.
  • Unlimited make-ups as space permits
  • Music Development Growth Chart
  • "How to Support Your Child's Music Development" guidebook choc-full of the research behind every little thing we do in class

When is Music Together?

The program runs year-round, with a 8-week Fall session, 8-week Winter session, 8-week Spring session and a 6-8 week Summer session.

Join us Summer 2024 for Harmonica song cycle!

  •  In-person classes start June 23 in Durham!
  • COMING SOON! Classes are expanding to Orange & Alamance - Click here to get on the list to be the first to know!

Note: While new enrollments are accepted anytime (space permitting) enrollment is especially encouraged at the beginning of a session to get the most out of the class experience. And most importantly, the learning for your child is maximized, because we know that music learning occurs over time (rather than in a drop-in format). They can't wait to make music with you and your family! If you register for classes after the semester has begun, please note that tuition will be pro-rated automatically on the website .
