We have several great area plant sales that allow you to support local nonprofits while also finding affordable plants for your spring gardens. I have personally shopped these sales for years and always find a good selection of healthy, native plants at affordable price points.

Alamance Community College's Horticulture Plant Sale
April 24th & 25th | FREE
Alamance Community College, Graham Campus
Stop by campus to get plants grown by students in the Horticulture program at ACC. A variety of options and prices. This year's sale will be available both online and in-person. Order in advance or purchase on site. More details to come on their ordering site here.
Women's Resource Center's Herb Festival

The Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County hosts the Herb Festival each year to provide Triad-area gardeners with the highest quality organic herbs, perennials, annuals, heirloom tomatoes, and vegetable plants along with specially-selected vendors. More info here.

Backyard Butterflies Spring Plant Sale

Backyard Butterflies, Hillsborough
Backyard Butterflies is a nonprofit and volunteer organization. We raise funds through our annual plant sale fundraisers. All revenue from our plant sale is used to support our organizational activities and programs. No one in the organization receives financial compensation. We operate a small, registered nursery (License #8775) located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. We curate an annual limited production collection of common to rare host and nectar plants that we grow from seed or source from local wholesale nurseries. Our plant collections are a combination of beneficial non-native and native host and nectar plants that butterflies and moths find acceptable. More info here.
