Splash Pads around Burlington-Hillsborough

Splash Pad at Mebane Community Park

550 W. Center Street, Mebane

What to expect: Small splash pad adjacent to a playground with separate preschool area (technically, anyway) and limited shade structures. Since they are together, kids often run back & forth from one to the other, but the playground seems to have been designed with this in mind as the materials don't seem to stay damp for long. Bathrooms on site. Splash pad and playground are open access (not fenced in). Note that the splash pad is a popular field trip destination for local summer camps, so sometimes large groups of kids show up suddenly - which can drastically change the noise level and energy level - and can be potentially disruptive for families with younger chldren who might inadvertently get overwhelmed by the bigger kids' activities.

Other park amenities include: Picnic tables, artificial turf soccer fields, dog park, paved walking trail, and Cone Health Community Fitness Court (a state-of-the-art bodyweight resistance workout area - for adults only).

Dates and hours: Open 8am - 8pm, 4/26/24 - 10/12/24
