Baby & Toddler Storytimes Across Alamance & N Orange

One of the most fun parts of having a little one is getting them out to events especially designed for growing bodies & minds. And one of the easiest ways to start that journey is by heading out to Storytime! 

Taking your wee one to Storytime has SO many developmental benefits, like introducing them to new words, skills, and concepts (shapes, colors, animals, etc). Children can also learn about everyday tasks like brushing their teeth and expand their creativity with fantastic tales of adventure and discovery - all while learning listening, motor, and socialization skills. Plus, in addition to being educational, Storytime is also FUN, often including songs, dance, fingerplay, and crafts. 

Plant the seeds of early literacy education in your littlest learner by heading to one of the many Storytimes in the area. We put all the info in 1 handy list (you're welcome!   ) Don't forget to tell 'em Macaroni KID sent ya!

   All Storytimes below are are FREE and open to the public

   Some events will require pre-registration 

   All Storytimes are INDOORS unless otherwise indicated

   Schedules can change over time (especially when weird NC weather is involved!). Always feel free to double check with your venue before heading out, especially if you have a long drive!

Fun Facts About Your Libraries:  

The Alamance County Public Library System includes 4 branches: May Memorial Library in downtown Burlington, North Park Library north of town, Graham Public Library next to the Children's Museum & Alamance Arts, and the Mebane Public Library in downtown Mebane.

The Orange County Public Library includes their main branch in downtown Hillsborough as well as the Cybrary in downtown Carrboro (and... coming soon! Southern Branch in Carrboro)

Both Alamance & Orange County Public libraries allow residents of neighboring counties to get library cards and attend events. This means that no matter where you are (and if you don't mind driving a bit!) - you have more great free event options to choose from for your little learners. Between these two system, there is a library within a 10 minute drive of most anywhere in the area.

Did you know that our local libraries offer SO MAY different family-friendly events, activities, programs, and resources for families? The activities vary in time, location and theme, but, in addition to storytimes, there are offer junior book clubs, seasonal craft and art events, LEGO & other STEM events, Anime groups, Tween/Teen groups, and so much more!
