What We Do
A student’s intellectual development needs are met through teaching colors, numbers, shapes, and the ABC’s. First School’s curriculum has seasonally-related, weekly themes and basic learning skills a preschooler would enjoy.
Emotional needs of children are achieved through learning about friends, God, and themselves. Activities such as playground and the movement room help a child’s physical development.
Social skills are learned by playing with others and interacting with teachers. Additionally, a child’s social needs are met through visits to the library and other various field trips.
Creative development is met by children expressing themselves through art activities and dramatic play every day. We also have a music teacher that comes twice a month. The children learn the joys of music by becoming active participants in the creation of music, encouraging them to attain a sense of confidence intheir musical achievements, and guiding themselves through music and movement.
We enhance a child’s spiritual development with activities such as chapel time once a week with the Pastor or leader of the church. Our curriculum incorporates Bible stories throughout our year. Our teachers also model Christian behavior every day.
