Alamance Children’s Theatre Inc. is a private, non-profit community based organization. Everyone just calls us ACT!
Our mission is to create quality theatrical opportunities for youth in our community, both as active participants in performance and production, and as engaged audience members. ACT is a member group of Alamance Arts (formerly the Alamance County Arts Council), which partially supports ACT with funds from the GRASSROOTS program of the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency. All proceeds from ACT productions are used to pay for the resources and materials needed to produce high quality theater for youth.
ACT provides opportunities for all youth, and also offers ACT II, a program providing additional acting challenges for older and/or more experienced youth actors. ACT presents three full-scale productions each season. ACT also hosts theater workshops several times each year as well as ACTing Up, a summer performing arts camp for youth. All ACT and ACT II Productions are presented at the Paramount Theater in downtown Burlington, North Carolina.
