Whether you're looking to relax and unwind with friends or spend quality time with your kids, Kelli's Korner Crafts at Solgarden in downtown Mebane is for you. The classes offer a variety of crafts that are good for littles or grown ups. My daughter and I recently gathered up several other friends on a Spring Saturday morning to try out a class with Kelli in her Kraft Korner. The classes are held in her store, Solgarden, in downtown Mebane. Kelli is a former third grade teacher so she is great with kids and had broken the craft down into easy-to-follow steps. She had all items prepped and ready so all you have to do is show up. It took about 20 minutes from start to finish and held the kids' attention well.

Our class craft was making a lightning bug out of an easter egg, complete with a light inside so it actually lights up. The kids were so proud of their creations. How cute are these little crafters showing off their little critters?

Kelli provides all the supplies, the space, and walks you through each craft. Other Fun for Kids at Solgarden, Mebane's Oldest Retail Store
Before or after your craft class, be sure to check out the rest of Solgarden, the oldest operating retail store in downtown Mebane. It turns 25 later this year! Kelli started as a customer and ended up buying it in 2015. In the last 10 years, she has enjoyed curating a welcoming space with eclectic gifts for every occasion and every person in your life.
Asked why folks should shop there, Kelli said she provides items that "are at a very reasonable price point, unique finds" and you can come in and be able to find "gifts of all kinds, for all people, for all occasions."

I've found many a gift and fashion accessory there over the years but I especially love the kids section. She offers so many cute options from classic wooden toys to the current trends. Her toy selection is for babies up to elementary kids and range between $5 and $50 with most items under $25. Another bonus is she has a little playhouse for kids in the corner so it can keep them entertained while you peruse the selection of gifts, art, and more.
Fairy Hair Flare
Another fun thing for kids and all ages is the Fairy Hair. Kelli trained in how to do it herself and has a chair set up with a selection of fairy hair in every, sparkly color of the rainbow. You can get as few as 5 strands or a whole head full. It is a fun way to add some sparkle and doesn't take long to have them done. I usually get 10 strands and it takes less than 10 minutes. Plus, she always throws in a few bonus strands in case a couple fall out. My daughter's favorite fairy hair color is the multi-colored one that she calls the "rainbow" option but all of them are gorgeous.
