NC Jelly Donuts

2 Locations:

  • 126 Millstead Dr. Mebane, NC
  • 3260 S. Church St. Burlington NC

http://www.ncjellydonuts.com/

Every donut is special at this family-owned donut shop.  They've got an impressive variety of offerings - Old fashioned, cake, raised (yeast), and Devil's food donuts in an assortment of flavors from classics like glazed, vanilla, and chocolate to extra mouth-watering like maple-bacon, coconut, and blueberry.

MK Publisher Rave Review*: As an avid fan of a good   Apple Fritter I can confidently say that the one I had this morning was the best Apple Fritter I have ever had. It had me saying "wow" after every bite.

*Note: I was not compensated in any way for this review. I'm just passionate about spreading the joy of an exquisite Apple Fritter to everyone who'll listen!

Support local! Mebane has been abuzz lately with conversation about new businesses moving in to compete with long-time favorites. In this case, a Dunkin' has set up shop directly in front of the Mebane NC Jelly Donuts location. Vote with your wallet!

Not only does Daily Donuts in Graham have a wide variety of delectable donuts to choose from (seriously - head to their website for photos so mouth-watering you'll need to grab a napkin!), but if anyone in your party is feeling more savory than sweet then they also have an assortment of breakfast sandwiches available on freshly made croissants.

Kim's Bake Shop

111 N. Churton Street, Hillsborough, NC

https://www.downtownpies.com/

While Kim's is not a donut shop in the traditional sense, it does have a small, rotating variety each day as well as other pastries and coffee drinks. (It also has an impressive array of non-donut desserts available for special order.) However, what this hole-in-the-wall bakery may lack in donut variety it definitely makes up for in ambience. Whether you want to grab a table-for-two in the cozy indoor dining area or enjoy your sweets with a view of bustling pedestrian-friendly Churton Street in the heart of Hillsborough, it's the kind of place you could end up relaxing a bit longer than you planned.

Paul's Pastry Shop

720 S. Church St., Burlington

https://www.facebook.com/paulspastryshopnc/

A local bakery open since 1940, Paul's features a wide variety of Donuts, Scones, Cookies, Pies & Custom Cakes - including some so good they're sold at local restaurants! Plus, there's something about their adorable Donut mascot that we can't resist. (Isn't everything cuter with a face?) #donutsofinstagram indeed.
