This weekend, of course, we moms have the added bonus of lots of events designed especially for us to share extra fun experiences with our kids!
Here are 5 events that caught our eye around the area ... and we just HAVE to share the fun!
1. Disaster! (Multiple Weekend Performances) at Studio 1
Take mom out for dinner and then a show at local venue Studio 1. Disaster! is a jukebox musical comedy homage to 1970s disaster films that's full of Earthquakes, tidal waves, piranhas, and more!

2. For an untraditional-yet-fun Mother's Day Weekend experience, head to one of the two Youth Fishing Events going on in the area Saturday morning! Sat, May 13
P.S. National Fishing and Boating Week is coming up June 4-11, so what better way to get in some practice than local Youth Fishing Events!
- Fishing Rodeo
at Blackwood Farm Park, Hillsborough
- Annual community event for Youth ages 3-15 intended to expose children to the joy of fishing. (Prizes, Hot Dogs, and Fun, too!) Registration required - preferred online but accepted on site at day of event.
- Youth Fishing Day at Graham-Mebane Lake, Graham
- Youth ages 4 to 15 are invited to participate in a FREE, non-competitive Youth Fishing Day with fishing, raffles, and yard games. Registration Required.
3. Culture Fest 2023 on the downtown Gibsonville Green
Back for its 3rd year, come celebrate cultural diversity in our surrounding community with performances, activities, and vendors that represent a variety of cultures. Sat, May 13
4. Mother's Day Cookie Decorating at AnnaFaye Creations
What's the sweetest thing you could imagine doing with your kiddo for Mother's Day? How about decorating sugar cookies! Cookie decorating kits (cookies, frosting, & sprinkles!) can be decorated in-store or taken to-go for at-home kitchen fun. Sat, May 13
5. Parent & Me Paint Classes at Painted Grape (both locations)
Join us for a fun instructional paint class designed to share between a parent & kid (of any age!) and go home with matching paintings on wrapped canvas
